The article refers to contemporary theories of identity development. The role of identity dimension analyzes in explaining the process of transition from education to work is emphasized. The importance of the transition as a process separating successive stages of development was indicated. Referring to the theory of postmodern society, the changes in the transition from adolescence to adulthood were discussed.
