The article presents Professor Tadeusz Tomaszewski’s contribution to the development of Polish psychology, with regard to both theory and practice. Professor Tomaszewski was the author of the Theory of Action, which he developed at an early stage of his academic roots: the Lviv-Warsaw School. He was effective at introducing this original theory to his students. This is proved by numerous papers written about the theory as well as books describing the Professor’s brilliance in lecturing on it and teaching students. The Professor is less known for his other achievements related to the organization of psychology in Poland. The article points out that it was thanks to him (and Professor Maria Żebrowska) that a course ending in a master’s degree in psychology was introduced in 1950.
